Previous results:
Waratahs: Neutral 24 – 16 Rebels
Away 36 – 40 Blues
Home 14 – 16 Crusaders
Away 17 – 25 Reds (most recent fixture).
Rebels: Home 45 – 47 Hurricanes
Home 30 – 23 Force
Home 13 – 30 Brumbies (most recent fixture).
Betting: Outright: 2/11 v.s 4/1.
Handicap: -10 v.s +10.
The Waratahs started off very poorly against the Reds with handling errors galore leaving them a mountain to climb after only 20 minutes. The Rebels did battle with the Brumbies last weekend and were outplayed in every department. The 17 point defeat in that fixture in fact flatters the Melbourne side due to the Brumbies’ very poor first half finishing.
Prediction: The handicap may be overzealous (and possibly value on the Rebels’ side). The price of 2/11 is not worth taking on the Tahs in our view even though they are deserved favorites. It is likely the result will be closer than the bookmakers expect.
